Congratulations to Josh Coon, for winning this year's Klaus Biemann medal to be presented at the American Society for Mass Spectrometry's annual meeting in Vancouver this month. The medal recognizes "significant achievement in basic or applied mass spectrometry made by an individual early in his or her career". Past recipients include Matthias Mann, Reudi Aebersold, and John Yates. Josh is best known for developing electron transfer dissociation, instrument modifications, and novel data acquisition techniques(1,2).
