POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCH ASSOCIATE
University of Washington, School of Pharmacy, Seattle, WA

One postdoctoral position is available from June 2012 for a
proteomics project of membrane transport protein. The purpose of
the project is to characterize oligomerization pattern and identify
substrate binding sites of BCRP/ABCG2, a clinically important ABC
efflux drug transporter, using chemical cross-linking, photoaffinity
labeling, and mass spectrometry based identification and
quantitation of protein modifications as well as peptide profiling.
This project provides an excellent opportunity to analyze the
structure and function of BCRP using high resolution mass
spectrometry. Candidates should have a Ph.D. degree in a related
area (e.g., biological or analytical science) and strong experience in
proteomics and mass spectrometry. Experience with mammalian cell
culture and membrane proteins is desirable. This is a collaboration
project between the laboratories of Drs. Qingcheng Mao and David
Goodlett. The Departments of Pharmaceutics and Medicinal
Chemistry are considered as one of the premier departments in the
area of drug metabolism and transport. The candidates will have an
opportunity to interact with a research-intensive environment of the
health science complex of the University of Washington.
Interested individuals should immediately submit via email a letter
describing your research background and interests, curriculum vitae,
and names and contact information for three referees to:
