Stability of Thermo Easy nLC II pumps

Postby jorge » Thu Oct 25, 2012 3:56 pm

From a colleague:
We have a problem with our Easy nLC II from Thermo. The flow of pump B never stabilizes and it has fluctuations of +/- 200 nL/min. I have run the Purge Solvent and Flow Air functions of the maintenance section several times but it does not solve the problem. I ran the test that check for leakage and it passed. I also changed the rotor of the valve B and also the piston seal in pump B, but the problem persists. Now the flow of pump A started to have the same problem.
Has anyone seen something like this before? or have any suggestions as to what might be the cause?

Based on the symptoms you describe, I would have thought that the rotor or piston seal was the problem. I don't remember what the problems were on our system, but at one point we had to replace the mixing tee and a few of the lines that feed in/out of that. I suppose that your flow sensor on B could have gone bad as well, but that seems less likely considering the new issues on A.
