Postby moggety007 » Thu Jan 31, 2013 12:52 pm

Hi I am new in the forum,

I was looking for some experts cause I have a question.
I got a task @ college and i cannot solve the problem :(

Maybe you can help me.

I have to calculate the intact the neutral mass of the protein with a ESI mass spectrum --> see picture

I dont know how to do it.

It would be perfect if someone of you could help me!!

Thank you!!

Take a look at section 12.5.2: "Mathematical Charge Deconvolution" in http://web.vscht.cz/cajkat/doc/ICSD/ICSD_10.pdf. Then you should be able to use equation 12.9 to determine the charge state of one of the peaks and with that, use equation 12.10 to determine neutral mass. Feel free to reply with your answer for confirmation.
