Whether you are building your own mass spec, modifying an existing one, or just need help with instrument settings post about it in here.

How to reduce in-source decay/dissociation on orbi-trap MS

Postby zhangcc » Fri May 02, 2014 8:22 am

Does anyone know how to How to reduce unwanted in-source decay or dissociation on ESI orbi-trap mass spec? There are a couple of voltage parameters: source voltage, capillary voltage, and tube lens voltage. which one should be watched for? There is also an option button for source fragmentation energy(volt), which could be on or off. The default is off. What parameter changes if it was selected? Thanks a lot!

Try to decrease S-lens RF and check that the heated capillary is not bent.

My 2 cents.
