You will support research in the Faculty of Medical Sciences by providing analytical services for proteomics, protein characterisation and biological mass spectrometry. You will join a successful and experienced core facility, and will take part in cutting-edge research programs across Newcastle University.
You will be an experienced analytical biochemist, with extensive hands-on experience in HPLC coupled to mass spectrometry (LCMS) and in protein chemistry. You will have knowledge of software used for the analysis of proteomic data (such as Mascot, MaxQuant or TPP), and ideally some scripting experience in a commonly used scripting language such as perl, Python or R. You will hold a relevant postgraduate degree, or equivalent experience in a relevant role. A PhD is desirable due to the academic nature of the post.
You will have a well-developed understanding of health and safety regulations and procedures within an analytical laboratory as well as proven analytical and problem solving skills.
Informal enquiries should be made to Achim Treumann (email@example.com)
